Hello, and thank you visiting Dissen Gallery!  I am a  northern Indiana artist and I  love to paint landscapes and architecture.  When weather permits, I paint plein air (outiside and  in view of the subject).  My media is watercolor, but more often than not, my pieces are mixed media, I love the combination of pen and ink and watercolor and sometimes colored pencil for added depth and color.  I still use the india ink bottles and dipping pen, I prefer the nostalgic feel and look of using ink this way.  So, why Dissen Gallery when my last name is Hyde?  My mother’s maiden name was VonSchwabedissen, (of course, it’s German) but who can say that?  Much less remember it.  So, I used the shortened version given my grandfather’s father,  at Ellis Island, “Dissen”.    I also like to write short stories and poetry and have written a book from my personal journal, documenting my last days with my mother, as she waged her personal war against cancer.   Please click on “Courageous Patsy” in the blogroll to visit this site.   Please leave me comments on both blog sites, I love to hear from you!

    • meaning the train or what?

  4. No. The theme is your blog design. I think all your work is better displayed on the black background.

  5. Great work. Impressive

  6. Tracy, I’d like to feature your watercolor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at my personal blog if you’d let me, please. I’ll provide links and credit, of course. I often post about art and when it’s local art it’s even better – especially when it’s GOOD local art.

Thanks for your consideration, and also for sharing your beautiful work with us.
